FAQ — EdgeAway
Quick answers to the questions that come up most.
How do I clear a level?
Tap an arrow to slide it off the cube in the direction it points. If nothing is in its path, it slides off and counts toward the clear. Clear every arrow on the cube to win the level.
Why did my tap cost me a life?
Another arrow was somewhere along the path your tapped arrow needed to slide through. The tap bounces back red and the blocking arrow flashes orange so you can see what stopped it — move the blocker first next time.
Is my very first mistake forgiven?
Yes. The first blocked tap on any level is a free grace tap and costs no life, on any difficulty. It can be turned off in Settings if you'd rather play without it.
What does Precision mode do?
It splits a tap into select, then confirm. The first tap only highlights an arrow; only the second, confirming tap can slide it or cost a life. It's on by default for busier boards and can be toggled any time in Settings.
What do the chevrons (>>, >>>) on some arrows mean?
They mark a multi-face arrow — one whose path crosses more than one face of the cube before it lifts off. >> crosses two faces, >>> crosses three, and so on. Every face along its path has to be clear for the slide to succeed.
What do Hint, Peel, and Heart do?
Hint pulses a currently-free arrow (3 free per day). Peel removes one free arrow for you with no penalty. Heart gives you an extra life for the level. Peel and Heart are earned through stars; tapping one you don't have just explains it — never an ad.
Will I lose my progress if I close the app mid-level?
No. EdgeAway saves your exact state — remaining arrows, lives, and camera angle — after every move. Backgrounding, a phone call, or force-quitting all resume to exactly where you left off.
What's the daily puzzle?
A new puzzle unlocks every day from the Home screen's Daily card, separate from your campaign save. Solving it keeps your streak going — it doesn't award stars or boosts.
What happens when I run out of lives?
You can Retry the level immediately, or spend a free daily second-chance token to Continue exactly where you stopped — your remaining arrows stay cleared.
How does star rating work?
3 stars for losing no lives on that attempt, 2 stars for losing half or fewer, and 1 star otherwise. Extra lives from a Heart boost never lower your score — stars are based on your starting lives.
Can I change the difficulty?
Yes, in Settings → Difficulty mode: Relaxed (extra life, grace tap, Precision on), Standard, or Challenge (one fewer life, never below two). The change applies to levels you start after switching.
Is EdgeAway free?
Yes — EdgeAway is free to download on the App Store, with no ads.
